The East Kerr River Group, (EKRG) committee of the Kerr County Water Alliance helps represent East Kerr in regional riparian restoration efforts.
EKRG represents East Kerr in regional restoration efforts by providing educational platforms for landowners, collaborating with TDEM contractors to divert debris mulch for local land management, and supporting the rebuilding of the County-owned Lions Park.
These efforts are part of a broader collaboration that includes Hill Country Alliance (HCA), Texas Parks and Wildlife, Texas Riparian Association, Bandera County River Authority and Groundwater District, Upper Guadalupe River Authority, Riverside Nature Center, and Schreiner University Field Station.
Together with the San Antonio Botanical Garden’s 3–4 year plan to collect and propagate seed stock for planting over 20,000 native trees, and HCA’s effort to develop a 10–15+ year comprehensive restoration plan, these partnerships aim to restore riparian systems, conserve uplands, and ensure long-term resilience throughout the Guadalupe River watershed.
